This week I had a bit more flexibility to sit down and chord out my song. I landed on a fairly basic pattern, of I,III repeat for the verses (F for 2 bars, Am for 2 bars, repeat.) The choruses have C, F, Am but also a G major chord thrown in which is not necessarily part of the F major key, but it sounded good so I decided to roll with it anyways! The bridge has a more funky arrangement that doesn’t really follow a set structure (see chorded lyrics below).
Now that I examine it again, I think that my song actually fits C major better than it does F major… especially with how the G chord sounded good in the choruses. It doesn’t resolve on the C, but with a few tweaks it could. Perhaps next week when I record a rough demo of the full song and/or create some musical riffs, that will be reflected!
I have included the chorded lyrics below, as well as a short audio clip of my first attempt to sing the verses over the chord repeat. It is quite rough and it is going to take a lot more tweaking before it is polished, for sure!

Below is the audio file from the very first attempt at making the words musical! It is quite rough. I hope you enjoy it though, neverless! Music is certainly a process. Do you have any thoughts on the song so far? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below 🙂
