All I can think of to say to start off is – I did it!

Starting a website is not entirely unfamiliar to me, but it is certainly not something I am well-versed in either. The first website I ever made was quite “clunky”; it was a digital art portfolio for another UVic education course (and I have since forgotten the domain!) It certainly worked, but it was by no means beautiful or easy to navigate! I was proud of it nerveless, as it was a brand new skill for me, and I felt that I learned a lot in the process.

Creating a website from the ground up was quite overwhelming when I did it the first time, so I am quite thankful that we were already set up with a basic interface, and functioning tabs! I feel confident that I can build my website up from here, adding photos, captions, and categories to make it unique to me.

I’m thankful that I have some basic working knowledge about web design, and I hope to be able to employ that and grow those skills more during this course by challenging myself to take risks and make more complex design choices.

I hope to be able to effectively use all of the tools available to me to be able to demonstrate my learning in this course, and to creatively display the process of my inquiry project, as well as the group project. I also hope that it will be like a “learning scrapbook” where I can tangibly observe my learning throughout the term, and perhaps even add more to it after the course to create an ongoing inquiry process.

Let’s go!
